MTVG Premieres 51st Flex Series Mobile Unit with Bally Sports

IP Based Mobile Unit 51FLEX Launches in Los Angeles Equipped with 1080p HDR Technology and Access to MTVG’s Cloud Control™

ENGLEWOOD, CO – November 30, 2022 — Mobile TV Group (MTVG), the live broadcast technology services company, today announced the launch of its most advanced mobile unit, 51FLEX, featuring state-of-the-art technological specs including a Kayenne K-Frame X IP Switcher, EVS XT-VIA’s, and twelve 1080P HDR cameras, all connected together via IP. This unit, in partnership with Bally Sports, will broadcast games for the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Angels.

Accompanying 51FLEX is a visitor’s mobile unit, or 51VMU, which can be accessed by the visiting team’s production crew in person, or remotely via Cloud Control. With access to this flagship remote production technology, Bally Sports West and Bally Sports SoCal’s production teams can broadcast home games in 1080P HDR while providing the visiting broadcaster their format of choice. 51FLEX and 51VMU are responsible for providing feeds to Bally Sports West and Bally Sports SoCal’s home broadcasts, the visiting team’s broadcast, and official league offices for replay and other purposes.

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with our longtime partner, Mobile TV Group, to introduce this all-new production truck with advanced 1080p HDR capabilities to viewers across Southern California,” said Kendall Burgess, vice president of technical operations, Bally Sports. “This marks an important milestone for our broadcasts, and we look forward to future rollouts across all 19 Bally Sports RSNs.”

Built on-site at MTVG’s headquarters in Colorado, 51FLEX features 1080p HDR technology. This technology allows games to be broadcast at the highest quality on a nightly basis. This new mobile unit gives Bally Sports the ability to use up to 32 sources during each broadcast. Included in those 32 sources are twelve 1080P HDR cameras with four running in super slo-mo to enhance slow-motion replay capture.

“Live broadcast technology is evolving rapidly along with the broader tech industry and MTVG is committed to providing our clients with the latest advancements,” said Nick Garvin, chief operating officer at MTVG. “51FLEX sets a new standard for RSN mobile units, and together with Bally Sports West and Bally Sports SoCal, we are bringing the fans a really high-quality broadcast on a nightly basis.”

Mobile unit 51FLEX is part of MTVG’s Flex Series, which is MTVG’s large-scale live production solution. MTVG also offers the MTVG Edge Series, which is a hypermobile small to mid-scale live production solution that significantly decreases the on-site footprint of a production crew.
